Lambeth seeks £300m framework deal
The framework agreement will include data entry services, telephone operator services and other computer related duties, the council has said. The IT infrastructure will cover revenue and benefits, document management and call centre services. Services outside of IT also form part of the deal, which is worth between £80m and £300m. According to a notice published in the Official Journal of the European Union (Ojeu) on 16 June 2010, the 15 year contract will consist of two phases. The first will include the delivery of a range of services such as the provision of a benefits call centre, while the second phase consists of the delivery of additional services such as undertaking further transactional financial duties, including additional revenue streams. Lambeth has said "it may seek to work in partnership with other local authorities, trusts and other public bodies within the Greater London area". "Accordingly it is the authority's intention to include appropriate contractual mechanisms which will allow the services procured during this competitive dialogue process to be utilised by other public sector partner bodies during the term of the awarded contract," the council said. Separately, Glasgow City Council has published a prior information notice for the provision of "miscellaneous services", which includes the installation of computers, telecommunications equipment, electronic information and printing related services. According to the notice published in Ojeu on 11 June 2010, the chosen suppliers will also be responsible for photocopying duties, mobile telephone and personnel and payroll services. "The contracting authority considers that this contract may be suitable for economic operators that are small or medium enterprises," the council said.
