Scientific procedures carried out on live animals in 2009
The Home Office published figures today showing the number of scientific procedures carried out on live animals in Great Britain last year. According to the report, 3.6m procedures were carried out in 2009. While the number of other procedures fell by 8% , breeding of genetically modified animals rose by 10% on 2008.
