NHS software firm iSoft blames lower profit on UK
iSoft, the NHS software supplier, told investors its 2010 operating profits would be about half the previously anticipated A$100m (£57m), blaming political and contractual uncertainties in Britain for delayed payments. The warning from the Australian company comes less than three months after the Guardian suggested IT system delays at Morecambe Bay Trust would be a tipping point for the government's £12.7bn NHS IT programme, triggering a series of profits warnings, including iSoft's. The delayed software, called Lorenzo, was finally installed at Morecambe Bay this week.
