Manchester City may end David Luiz interest over Benfica asking price
Manchester City may end their interest in the Benfica defender David Luiz, due to the Portuguese champions' asking price. According to reports in Portugal today, the Brazil Under-20 international has been the subject of a €32m (£26.8m) bid from City. It was also reported that Benfica are holding out for €35m (£29.3m). City, however, have not submitted an offer for the 23-year-old, who can play left-back or central defence, and believe they are being quoted an inflated price due to the wealth of their Abu Dhabi owners. City have spent over £60m this summer, on David Silva, Yaya Touré and Jérôme Boateng.
