Friends Provident t20 preview: Derbyshire Falcons

T20 pedigree Not great. Have only made the quarter-finals once, in 2005. Captain Chris Rogers Overseas players Loots Bosman (South Africa) Big-hitting opener who spanked 94 off 45 balls against England last November. Charl Langeveldt (South Africa) Needs work-permit clearance but is one of the world's best death bowlers, who averages 14.17 in T20 internationals. Chris Rogers (Australia) Derbyshire's captain and opener is that rarest of birds: the Australian one-cap wonder. Has a modest T20 record and may be replaced by Langeveldt. Watch out for Greg Smith Talented Kolpak all-rounder who smashed a 62-ball century against Yorkshire in this competition two years ago. Prospects Slim hasn't left yet town, but it would be a big surprise if they reached the quarter-finals. How they're hoping to pull in the punters Freddie the Falcon is their new mascot (for the side formerly known as the Phantoms) and will lead the entertainment focusing on enjoyment for younger kids. Don't worry, the cheerleaders and beverages remain for dads and lads.
