Jack Duckworth documentary draws nearly 7m

ITV1's Farewell Jack documentary on Bill Tarmey's Coronation Street character attracted nearly 7 million viewers last night, Wednesday 10 November. The 30-minute documentary on Jack Duckworth, who passed away on screen on Monday night, pulled in 6.901 million viewers and a 30.8% audience share from 7.30pm on ITV1 and ITV1 HD. Over on BBC1 at the same time, Wallace & Gromit's World of Invention drew 3.627 million (16.2%). The 9pm ratings honours went to BBC1's The Apprentice with 6.418 million (24%), against ITV1/ITV1 HD's The Pride of Britain Awards (6.393 million/25.1%). However, The Apprentice was down on last Wednesday's 7.297 million (28.9%). The 9pm competition included new BBC2 series Ancient Worlds (1.728 million/6.5%, BBC HD 26,000/0.1%), Channel 4's Grand Designs (1.673 million/6.3%, C4 +1 217,000/1.1%), and Channel 5's NCIS repeat (755,000/2.8%).
