Brent Webb grabs five tries in Leeds Rhinos' Challenge Cup romp
Leeds and Bradford eased into the Challenge Cup quarter-finals with victories over lower division opposition tonight, although the Rhinos were given a tougher test than expected before beating Blackpool Panthers 70-22 at Headingley. The Panthers, who usually play in front of three figure crowds in the third tier of the professional game, were only 24-16 behind at half-time after scoring three tries. But Leeds ran in eight after the break, with the former New Zealand full-back Brent Webb grabbing five from the unfamiliar position of scrum-half and Michael Coady, a young centre from Bristol, adding a hat-trick. The Championship leaders Leigh competed gamely at Odsal but Bradford cruised to a 58-16 win to reach the last eight for the first time in three seasons, with Chris Nero scoring three of their 10 tries.
