Newspaper editor arrested in Burma
A new editor-in-chief has been appointed to the Burmese newspaper, the Myanmar Times , following last week's arrest of the paper's Australian founder, Ross Dunkley . Dunkley was detained last Thursday on immigration charges, although the exact reasons for his arrest are unclear He has been replaced as the paper's editor by its Burmese co-owner, Tin Htun Oo . Another co-owner, the Australian mining executive Bill Clough , is in Burma negotiating with authorities for Dunkley's release.
