Buying Solutions publishes £3bn tender

According to a notice published in the Official Journal of the European Union on 19 January, the four year deal includes a range of services such as hardware, software and related equipment. Users of the framework, which is open to all public sector bodies, will include the Highways Agency and local authorities. The deal is divided into 10 lots. They cover the provision of a complete enterprise wide solution for the delivery of large scale, complex projects; traffic signals for and ramp metering; electronic and interactive signs; traffic and vehicle monitoring services; parking and access control services; environmental monitoring services; national traffic control (NTC), urban traffic control (UTC) and common database systems; traffic management research and consultancy; street lighting services; and traffic safety. It is envisaged that the deal will be awarded to a range of between three to eight suppliers. "Buying Solutions requires traffic management technology solutions which will meet the commercial and technical requirements of small, medium and large public sector bodies across the whole of the UK," says the notice.
