Felipe Massa is 'not worried' by return to Hungarian F1 grand prix

As Felipe Massa prepares to return to the scene of the accident which nearly took his life he could be forgiven for feeling a little apprehensive. The Ferrari driver needed emergency surgery after his skull was fractured by a metal spring during last year's Hungarian grand prix but, as he readies himself to race at Hungaroring once again, Massa says he has no fear. "It doesn't scare me," the Brazilian is reported as saying in The Sun. "I am not worried about going back to Hungary. I was never afraid to get back in an F1 car. I wanted to do as quickly as possible. "It was a very difficult time - but somebody was saying that I still need to be here, so I'm here, very happy and working, still doing my job. So let's go back to Hungary and let's try to achieve a good result there. Massa looked set to claim his first Formula One race victory last weekend, on the first anniversary of his accident in Budapest, but was ordered to pull over by the Ferrari hierarchy to allow Fernando Alonso to claim victory. Massa admits the trauma of the past year has cvhanged his outlook on practically all aspects of life, with the exception of the race-track. "The accident made me value life much more than before," he said. "I appreciate the ordinary things in life 10 times more. It has put life and my health in perspective, not taking anything for granted. Not just for me, but also for life in general and what it means to everyone. I feel I am much more mature as a human being. "On the professional front, nothing has changed because once you shut the visor and go out on the race track, you just do everything as before, without thinking of the accident."
