Daily Mail dips toe back into Chatroulette, withdraws it quickly

The Daily Mail has returned to Chatroulette – about two months after the paper , and the rest of the mediaverse, first woke up to this latest internet threat to the very fabric of our society. Olivia Lichtenstein – in a former life, editor of the BBC documentary strand Inside Story – alerted to the website by her 16-year-old daughter, writes of her horror at being asked to show her breasts to a man called "Gerry", "a complete stranger, and one of the many crude and deviant men I have encountered in the past 30 minutes". A canny move by the Mail – there's actually the chance to have these alarming Chatroulette encounters again, now that all the other journalists who were clogging up the site last month have gone away.
