Film Weekly scores with composer Alexandre Desplat

This week Jason Solomons talks to celebrated film composer Alexandre Desplat . Speaking from his Paris studio, he discusses his score for Tom Hooper's The King's Speech and how his discovery of George VI's original microphone inspired his composition. Jason also discusses the remarkable range of Desplat's work, from Jacques Audiard's A Prophet to Wes Anderson's Fantastic Mr Fox . Xan Brooks joins Jason to review some of this week's other releases, including Russell Crowe in The Next Three Days and James Franco in Danny Boyle's 127 Hours . And we announce the winner of our Curzon on Demand competition, so for all those Film Weekly fans who entered it's a must listen.
