Gavin Henson in talks over surprise move to Toulon, say reports

Gavin Henson is reportedly considering a move to Toulon, despite only making his Saracens debut six weeks ago. The Heineken Cup quarter-finalists are believed to have made an initial approach to take the Wales star until the end of the season. The 29-year-old has played only four times for Saracens since joining them in October. Toulon had initially expressed an interest for Henson to join next season, but, according to reports from L'Equipe and the BBC, their need for cover at fly-half has brought the proposal forward. Toulon are without Jonny Wilkinson, who is on Six Nations duty, while Argentine Felipe Contepomi is injured. Toulon's manager, Tom Whitford, has admitted there is a vacancy in the squad for a "medical joker" under the regulations to replace injured players. Any deal would involve negotiating financial compensation with Saracens, but L'Equipe claim a deal could be complete within the next 24 hours.
