John Galliano: king of the catwalk finale
The designer John Galliano proved once again this week why he is the king of putting together an outfit in which to take his end-of-show bow. After unveiling 30 new looks, inspired by flowers, for Parisian fashion house Christian Dior's autumn/winter 2010 haute couture collection, he dressed himself up like a marvellous storm. His outfit included rolled-up, posh, striped, pyjama-style trousers and a jacket with an on-trend (for women) thin belt wrapped around the middle. This creates a waist that allows the upper body to slightly lean back in a brilliantly model-like pose, doesn't it, John? Last month, at the close of his eponymous menswear show, he stepped on to the catwalk in pigtails, a baker boy cap, braces and rolled-up denims, while in March for the women's Dior ready-to-wear show, he wore a pirate blouse with trousers tucked into boots. John, for these gifts to man-fashion, we salute you.
