E4 to air US comedy Glory Daze

As E4 bids farewell to hit sitcom The Inbetweeners it has bought another teenage comedy – except this one is set in the 1980s and based in the US. Glory Daze stars Saturday Night Live's Tim Meadows and centres on a group of friends getting to grips with college life in Wisconsin. The 10-part series, produced by Warner Horizon Television, will begin on E4 in January next year. Channel 4's acting head of acquisitions, Penny Harris, said: "We're incredibly excited that Glory Daze is joining E4's fresh slate of comedy drama offerings: it highlights the channel's commitment to delivering the best the US has to offer for our very discerning audiences. "Glory Daze is warm, uproariously funny with universally recognisable characters at its heart; think The Inbetweeners boys and what they would have been doing at an American college in the 1980s and you're pretty much there." Created by Walt Becker and Michael LeSieur, Glory Daze will premiere in the US on Time Warner-owned cable channel TBS next month. • To contact the MediaGuardian news desk email [email protected] or phone 020 3353 3857.
