Lisa Bachelor wins Santander journalist award

Observer and Guardian journalist Lisa Bachelor last night won the Santander personal finance journalist of the year award. The judges said Bachelor impressed them with her empathy and clear understanding of her readership's concerns, with one praising the breadth of subjects she covered and her willingness to explore new angles on the impact of personal finance on the individual. Both Jill Insley, the head of the Guardian and Observer's consumer team (who won the same award last year) and the Observer's Margaret Dibben were also shortlisted for the award.
