Politics Weekly: Students walk out as education gets a shake-up
Students and pupils around the UK walked out of classes to protest against a hike in university tuition fees on the same day that Michael Gove, the education secretary, announced sweeping changes to schools policy. Measures include a slimming down of the national curriculum and greater independence for headteachers. But will the policies have the desired effect of increasing social mobility - and who's paying?
