Cameron: government made 'crazy decisions' on IT
The prime minister said the report looks at waste over the last decade "where we've been increasing spending, yet we've made crazy decisions about property, about IT, about shared services". "Some of it, about the different costs of computers across government, or even cups of coffee across government, make pretty chilling reading," he added. "I'm afraid under the last government the sluice gates were opened, the money was spent and there weren't nearly enough questions asked about how can we purchase better, save money, find efficiencies." Referring to Sir Philip Green's report, which will be published later today, Cameron said: "Some of the property examples will turn your head."
