El-Hadji Diouf to face internal investigation at Blackburn Rovers
El-Hadji Diouf is the subject of an internal investigation at Blackburn Rovers after the forward allegedly taunted the injured QPR player Jamie Mackie in last weekend's FA Cup match at Ewood Park. The 30-year-old Senegalese attracted widespread condemnation for verbal abuse aimed at Mackie, who was lying prostrate with a double leg fracture following an accidental collision with Diouf's team-mate Gaël Givet. Diouf is alleged to have stood over Mackie and shouted "fuck you and fuck your leg". While the Football Association has already begun its investigation into the matter, Blackburn have resolved to launch an inquiry of their own, led by senior club officials including the manager, Steve Kean. Kean said: "We are trying to investigate absolutely everything and we are speaking with the players who were on the pitch with El-Hadji. Hopefully whatever comes out will be the full story and we will act on that."
