Norfolk councils share software purchase
North Norfolk council said it has approved the joint procurement with its neighbour King's Lynn and West Norfolk council. The authority has estimated that the arrangement could save £500,000 a year between the two. The decision follows a year of assessment of the possibilities for sharing councils' revenues and benefits and associated public services. North Norfolk said it now intends to develop a formal partnership for the management of the revenues and benefits services on behalf of both councils. Peter Moore, the cabinet portfolio holder for resources at the council said: "It is important that the council continues to look carefully at every opportunity to cut costs while maintaining a high quality of service to customers."
