Carlo Ancelotti insists he will be at Chelsea next season
Carlo Ancelotti has insisted he will still be manager of Chelsea next season even if the club fail to win the Premier League title. Following the team's exit from the Champions League last week and recent stuttering domestic form, which has seen them slip to third in the table, speculation had grown concerning the Italian's future. Ancelotti, however, is adamant that his future lies at Stamford Bridge, having arrived there from Milan last summer. "This is a delicate time for us because of injuries and the disappointment of going out of the Champions League, but we are still playing on two fronts [the league and FA Cup]," Ancelotti told La Stampa. "I believe we will do well this year but regardless of results my future is definitely at Chelsea." Chelsea face Portsmouth tomorrow and know victory at Fratton Park will move them within one point of the leaders Manchester United. Ancelotti will, however, be without Branislav Ivanovic after the defender injured a medial ligament during the 1-1 draw on Sunday. He is likely to be out for at least a month. On a positive note for Chelsea, Petr Cech is likely to return from injury for tomorrow's match. The goalkeeper has been out with a calf injury sustained against Internazionale in the Champions League last month.
