Evans on the net, Black on the PCC
Former Sunday Times editor Harry Evans believes the internet is "only a vehicle for the delivery of information". Speaking at the International Press Institute world congress in Vienna, Evans said it was still essential for journalists to conduct research. In a later panel session entitled "Media ethics in the new media landscape", Guy Black said: "We have to have as much self-regulation as we possibly can but we have to be honest. It is never going to cure every illness." Black, executive director of the Telegraph Media Group , is chair of Pressbof, the industry body that arranges funding for the Press Complaints Commission .
