Ashford link road and housing estate: Oak trees under threat

A stream runs through this Special Landscape Area which fronts the Kent Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The area is home to rich diversity of wildlife including little owls, tawny owls, kestrels, sparrowhawks, goshawks, buzzards, dragonflies, herons, kingfishers, various species of reptiles and little egrets. It also neighbours and provides a backdrop to a conservation area including several listed buildings and a 12th century church. What development is proposed? Ashford Borough Council is proposing to build a link road and a 1200-house estate across Grade 1 agricultural land in a Special Landscape Area which fronts an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The development, which is planned to run from the A28 to the A251, will also skirt a conservation area. What one thing would help you or your group protect this site?
