BBC boss watch: the case continues

As hip young gunslinger Danny Cohen is hired as BBC1 controller, it's time to award him Watson's trusty service revolver on our BBC Boss Watch chart. Some have dismissed Cohen's BBC3 shows as "elementary", but they have clearly won over the corporation's top brass. As Holmes once said: "To the man who loves art for its own sake ... it is frequently in its least important and lowliest manifestations that the keenest pleasure is to be derived." Mystery persists, however, about the identity of the corporation's Holmes, or BBC Trust chairman. With Terry Leahy, Stuart Rose and Roger Parry all reportedly in the running, and Patricia Hodgson a long shot, the case is far from closed.
