FA plans for National Football Centre under threat from residents
Residents living near the Football Association's proposed National Football Centre in Staffordshire are to launch a legal bid to overturn the project, angry at residential elements of the plans. The FA's revamped design, unveiled in January, included a hotel and residential development the FA says is crucial to funding the project. The Daily Telegraph reported residents were to apply to the high court for a review of the East Staffordshire Borough Council's decision to grant the project planning consent. An FA spokesman said: "We have valid planning permission. This action is a matter between, as we understand it, a local resident and the local authority."
