Designed by the team behind Rock Band, it is perhaps the best game in the launch line-up Photograph: PR EA Sports Active 2: An exhaustive – and exhausting – fitness game from EA with more than 70 different exercises, a range of targeted workouts and the option to set up your own custom regimes. It also allows you to set up fitness clubs with friends so that you all remain motivated Photograph: PR Sonic Free Rider: Fast-paced hoverboard racer starring Sonic the Hedgehog and his pals. Far from perfect, but much more 'hardcore' than the other offerings Photograph: PR Kinect Sports: A Wii Sports-style multi-event game with bowling, boxing and football among the activities on offer. It's solidly designed and will be a staple of many a Christmas party Photograph: PR Kinectimals: This cute virtual pet sim from British studio Frontier Developments gives kids an array of cute animals to interact with. A lovely introduction to the technology for families Photograph: PR Kinect Adventures: A real mixed bag of showcase for the technology with varied gameplay elements, ranging from white water rafting to blocking leaks in an aquarium. Hasn't gone down brilliantly with reviewers, but will get most family members up and jumping about Photograph: PR Your Shape: A highly technical fitness title aiming very much at the female user, with its ambient music and holistic, almost meditative presentation Photograph: PR Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: We've only seen previews of this dark action adventure so far, but it's interesting in its optional employment of Kinect features.
