ABCs: Four popular Sunday papers post increased sales, month on month

There was some cheer in the Sunday popular market in April as four titles – the News of the World, Mail on Sunday, Sunday Express and Daily Star Sunday – managed month-on-month sales rises. The Daily Star Sunday recorded the biggest circulation jump, up 1.86% over March, but was down 2.64% year-on-year, according to the latest Audit Bureau of Circulations figures for April out today. In April the Mail on Sunday was the second biggest monthly riser in the sector, with sales up 1.57% month on month. It was down 4.4% year on year. The Sunday Express was up 0.75% month on month, but was the biggest faller compared to April 2009 at 9.9%. News of the World rose by just a sliver month on month, 0.04%, to record a year-on-year circulation fall of 1.04%.
