Northants police signs comms deal with BT iNet

In addition to Northamptonshire, police in Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire will be able to buy IP telephony and a unified communications solution supplied by BT iNet through the deal. An award notice in the Official Journal of the European Union on 13 January says that Northamptonshire, as the lead authority, is looking to replace its current iSDX telephone systems and peripheral equipment with the new equipment and services supplied through the framework. BT iNet is expected to deliver a unified communication solution to "facilitate new ways of working". In addition to the detailed design, supply and implementation of the solution, the company will work with Northamptonshire to migrate its voice network. This covers some 3,500 fixed extensions.
