Being Human returns to haunt Benidorm

FORGET ABOUT THE US VERSION, IT'S BACK ON OVER HERE Being Human, BBC3, 9pm – The supernatural drama which recently transferred to the Syfy cable channel in the US returned for a third run to BBC3 with 1.368 million viewers, a 5% share of the audience between 9pm and 10pm, with another 174,000 viewers on BBC HD. It was more than a third up on the 1 million viewers who watched the series finale of series two of the BBC3 drama in March last year . It beat ITV2's sitcom Benidorm – a rapid repeat of the edition shown on ITV1 on Saturday – which drew 488,000 viewers, a 1.6% share. FORMER BREAKFAST SHOW DJ GETS OWN SERIES Terry Wogan's Ireland – The former BBC Radio 2 breakfast presenter's two-part trip around his homeland began with 4.811 million viewers, a 17.5% share, between 9pm and 10pm. It lost out to the second half of ITV1 drama Wild at Heart, which picked up 7 million viewers, a 23% share, between 8.30pm and 9.30pm and the Dancing on Ice skate-off, which drew 7.2 million viewers (25%) between 9.30pm and 10pm. Earlier the main Dancing on Ice show pulled in 8.2 million viewers (30%) all the way from 6.10pm to 8.30pm. It beat a BBC1 lineup that included Antiques Roadshow (5.4 million, a 22% share) between 6pm and 7pm, and Countryfile (6.7 million, 25% share) between 7pm and 8pm. The main Dancing on Ice programme was the most popular programme on ITV's new timeshifted channel, ITV1 +1, where it was watched by an extra 212,000 viewers. Wild at Heart was second, with 144,000. NEW STIG LOOKS LIKE OLD ONE Top Gear, BBC2, 8pm – the show returned with a brand new Stig and 5.501 million viewers, an 18.2% share between 8pm and 9pm, with another 754,000 on the BBC HD channel. It beat Channel 4's Come Dine With Me, which drew 1.472 million viewers, a 4.9% share, and another 346,000 on Channel 4 +1. RUB THE MAGIC RATINGS LAMP Aladdin, Channel 5, 3.40pm – The Robin Williams Disney animation repeat was Channel 5's most popular show of the day with 2.060 million viewers, a 12.3% share, despite showing in mid-afternoon when fewer people are watching television. All three of the network's most popular programmes were film repeats, with sci-fi adventure The Fifth Element watched by 1.473 million viewers (5.9%) at 5.35pm, and Jason Statham action flick The Transporter attracting 1.264 million (5.3%) at 9pm.
