Journalist dies in Egypt uprising

The uprising in Egypt has claimed its first journalistic victim. Ahmad Mohamed Mahmoud , a photographer with the newspaper Al-Ta'awun , died last night in hospital from gunshot wounds sustained seven days before. Mahmoud is thought to have been shot by a sniper while filming confrontations between security forces and demonstrators from the balcony of his home in Cairo's Qasr al-Aini district, which is adjacent to Tahrir Square.
