NI courts get £37.4m ICT deal

The services included in the contract, awarded by the Department of Finance and Personnel on behalf of the courts and tribunals service, are infrastructure and software support, hardware refresh, hosting services and service management. Staff will also be provided with secure mobile working, data and voice network services, and Fujitsu will also provide disaster recovery and access to a range of online services. Courtroom technology services will include evidence display, digital audio recording and visual testimony systems. Northern Ireland Courts and Tribunals Service will also get file and print services, electronic document and records management, finance, human resources and internet/intranet services. Fujitsu will be expected to support a number of the service's existing bespoke applications, but could also be asked to develop and maintain new bespoke applications. A contract award notice, published in the Official Journal of the European Union on 23 November, says the deal could be extended from its initial five year term by a further two years.
