Europa League final: Atlético Madrid v Fulham

The trophy which Fulham and Atlético are contesting. Will it be a fairytale end to Fulham's season which will see the small club from west London do something which their more illustrious neighbours haven't done this season and lift a European trophy? Photograph: Marcus Brandt/EPA Photograph: Marcus Brandt/guardian.co.uk You can take the boy out of fashionable west London, but you can't take the fashion out of the boy. A proud Fulham fan shows of his natty strides which are fashioned from scarves from this season's majestic Europa League run Photograph: Carl Recine/Action Images Photograph: Carl Recine/guardian.co.uk These Atlético Madrid fans are in good voice as they enjoy themselves outside the ground. However, they have let themselves down with their rather amateurish replica trophy which seems to be made of a cereal box, a couple of coat hangers and some silver foil Photograph: Christof Koepsel/Bongarts/Getty Images Photograph: Christof Koepsel/guardian.co.uk That's more like it, a much more professional effort. So Fulham win the replica trophy stakes, lets hope they can replicate that form in the match proper Photograph: Christof Koepsel/Bongarts/Getty Images Photograph: Christof Koepsel/guardian.co.uk Once inside the stadium the fans crank up the volume Photograph: Kay Nietfeld/EPA Photograph: Kay Nietfeld/guardian.co.uk Fulham's version of Jedward are in fine voice too Photograph: Ina Fassbender/Reuters Photograph: Ina Fassbender/guardian.co.uk The opening ceremony - flag waving and women with flares strapped to their backsides. The 90 minutes finishes with the teams tied at 1-1, and the game goes into extra-time Photograph: Christof Koepsel/Bongarts/Getty Images Photograph: Christof Koepsel/guardian.co.uk Then, with only only four minutes left in extra-time, Aguero skips past a challenge and whips in a vicious cross. Forlan manages to get half a yard on Hangeland and flicks the ball goalward, it takes a slight nick off the Fulham defender on it's way past the despairing dive of Mark Schwarzer and into the net to make it 2-1... No wonder they are so happy, it's the club's first European trophy (discounting the Intertoto Cup in 2007) since they won the Cup Winners Cup 48 years ago Photograph: Laurence Griffiths/Getty Images Photograph: Laurence Griffiths/guardian.co.uk
