Man killed in north London shooting

A man was killed and another critically injured after a shooting in north London in the early hours of this morning. Police were called to the incident, in Islington, at around 4.30am after shots were reported. The two victims, who have not been named but are both in their 20s, were shot by two male suspects while standing outside a block of flats called Strang House, in Britannia Row. The suspects fled the scene on foot, police said. Emergency services were unable to save one man, who died at the scene, and the second victim remained in a critical condition in hospital. DCI Stephen Clayman, from the Metropolitan police, said: "We appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident who may have seen or heard anything suspicious, or has any information about this incident, to contact us in confidence."
