My Week With Marilyn to premiere at New York film festival
The highly-anticipated British film My Week With Marilyn is to receive its world premiere at the New York film festival. According to an announcement by the Film Society Lincoln Centre (FSLC), who organise the festival, the film will screen on 9 October as its Centrepiece event . My Week With Marilyn is an account of the relationship between Monroe and Colin Clark, assistant director on the 1957 film The Prince and the Showgirl . Clark, an Old Etonian and former RAF pilot, entertained Monroe in the UK for several days after her then-husband, Arthur Miller, had to return to the US. Monroe is played by Michelle Williams, while Laurence Olivier, who directed and starred alongside Monroe in The Prince and the Showgirl, is played by Kenneth Branagh.
