Crusaders say they have cleared threat of HMRC winding-up order
The Crusaders claim to have averted the threat of a winding-up order from Revenue & Customs next week, but are still expected to enter administration. Ian Roberts, the chairman of the troubled Welsh club, told a local newspaper: "Our solicitors have informed us HMRC have made an application to dismiss the winding-up order which was due to be heard on 10 November. They are doing this because we had already paid them the amount in question, which I believe was in the order of £60,000. "It was an old debt which had already been paid and they had tried to allocate it to a newer debt. It was all down to confusion. The means there will still be a hearing on 10 November but only to dismiss the order. It will just be a legal formality. "We are still looking at the current position of the club and we are concerned about the debt we have still got. However, I am confident that Crusaders will be playing next season."
