How can I put the brakes on my bike-mad husband?

Every week a Guardian Money reader submits a question, and it's up to you to help him or her out. A selection of the best answers will appear in next Saturday's paper. This week's question: My husband has gone bicycle mad. Last year he bought an £800 bike, which he now says is not fast enough, and insists on a £2,000 replacement.
