Andrew Miller named as GMG interim chief executive

Guardian Media Group has today appointed Andrew Miller, chief financial officer, as its interim chief executive. Miller will take over from Carolyn McCall, who joining easyJet as chief executive after 24 years with the company, on 1 July. He joined GMG, which publishes MediaGuardian.co.uk, in August last year from Auto Trader publisher Trader Media Group , where he was also chief financial officer. TMG is jointly owned by GMG and private equity group Apax Partners. The process of recruiting McCall's successor is being led by a nominations subcommittee chaired by Amelia Fawcett, chair of GMG, and including Liz Forgan, chair of the Scott Trust – the owner of the Guardian, Observer and theguardian.com – and non-executive directors John Bartle and Neil Berkett. This group is in the process of appointing executive search consultants and will consider both internal and external candidates.
