Darren Singer named GMG chief financial officer

Guardian Media Group has hired Darren Singer from WPP-owned media buying agency network GroupM to be its new chief financial officer. Singer is replacing Andrew Miller, who was promoted to become GMG chief executive in July . "Darren has excellent commercial skills, a full understanding of the media sector and experience of managing change in complex organisations. He will play a key role as we continue to build a strong financial platform for our journalism," Miller said. Before moving to GroupM Singer worked at BSkyB, in roles including director of group finance and reporting, and head of finance for Sky Networks, Sky Media and Sky Sports.
