TV ratings: Celebrity MasterChef cooks up more than 4m viewers

Celebrity MasterChef returned to BBC1 with more than 4 million viewers, beating a Midsomer Murders repeat on ITV1 last night, Wednesday 21 July. The celebrity cookery show, which featured DJ Nihal and former athlete Tessa Sanderson, averaged 4.673 million viewers and a 22.3% share between 8pm and 9pm, according to unofficial overnights. Midsomer Murders averaged 4.059 million viewers and a 18.5% share between 8pm and 10pm. Elsewhere, Katie Price's ITV2 reality show, Katie & Alex: For Better For Worse, drew 1.215 million viewers and a 5.3% share between 9pm and 10pm.
