I Am Number Four – review

The setting is the sleepy American town of Dullsville. A super-hot teenage boy lopes smoulderingly along the corridor of the high-school where he is a newbie, occasionally giving unsuspecting passersby paper-cuts with his cheekbones. He is, secretly, not an earthling. A lonely, artistic, woolly-hat wearing girl develops a bit of a crush on him. The resemblances to Twilight are about as subtle as those in the spoof Vampires Suck. British-born star Alex Pettyfer plays Number Four, an alien youngling in dishy human form, who in addition to smoulderingly sensitive loneliness, bears the burden of staying alert for attacks on him by baddie aliens with unsightly gills in their super-ugly faces. Silly, but occasionally entertaining.
