I Am Number Four – review

Handsomely photographed by Guillermo Navarro, Guillermo del Toro's regular cinematographer, I Am Number Four is a by-numbers supernatural thriller, packed with special effects and aimed at the Twilight demographic. The pretty, glowering Alex Pettyfer plays a good extraterrestrial, the only survivor of a remote planet, hiding on earth from vicious enemies determined to destroy him. The logic is dodgy, and the most frightening aspect is the sequel promised at the end.
