But we can't recall any. So today's scraps will have to do. Oriol Romeu , who is only just making a name for himself, is already on his way back to Barcelona. Chelsea will soften the blow of his departure with an £84m bid for Porto striker Hulk . Isn't modern football charming! Emmanuel Frimpong will join Aston Villa on loan from Arsenal. Keep 'em coming, please, 2011! West Ham United will bid £3m for Cardiff midfielder Peter Whittingham . Newcastle United will bid £3m for West Hamdefender James Tomkins . The wild and crazy world of Sam Allardyce ! He's worth the admission fee alone, isn't he. Kenwyne Jones will not leave Stoke City. That's not really a rumour, is it. QPR will bid £7m for Nikica Jelavic , what with Rangers shutting down in the new year and all that. Tottenham Hotspur and Stoke City will both be offered Blackburn starlet Junior Hoilett for £8m . Celtic are thinking about signing former Rangers defender Carlos Cuellar on a pre-contract agreement, with a view to his being treated with intense suspicion.
