Football transfer rumours: Gareth Bale to Barcelona?

It's the final Rumour Mill of the year ! And to celebrate 12 months of hottttttt football gossip, we were thinking about putting together a list of the most memorable rumours of 2011. But we can't recall any. So today's scraps will have to do. Oriol Romeu , who is only just making a name for himself, is already on his way back to Barcelona. Chelsea will soften the blow of his departure with an £84m bid for Porto striker Hulk . Isn't modern football charming! Emmanuel Frimpong will join Aston Villa on loan from Arsenal. Keep 'em coming, please, 2011! West Ham United will bid £3m for Cardiff midfielder Peter Whittingham . Newcastle United will bid £3m for West Hamdefender James Tomkins . The wild and crazy world of Sam Allardyce ! He's worth the admission fee alone, isn't he. Kenwyne Jones will not leave Stoke City. That's not really a rumour, is it. QPR will bid £7m for Nikica Jelavic , what with Rangers shutting down in the new year and all that. Tottenham Hotspur and Stoke City will both be offered Blackburn starlet Junior Hoilett for £8m . Coming the other way: Fulham striker Andy Johnson, West Ham's six-foot-by-two shin Carlton Cole, Nottingham Forest defender Chris Gunter, and unemployment's Mark Hughes. Celtic are thinking about signing former Rangers defender Carlos Cuellar on a pre-contract agreement, with a view to his being treated with intense suspicion. Tottenham Hotspur are looking at Freiburg striker Papiss Cisse . Yes, one particular syllable does catch the eye, there's no point denying it. And here's the new never-ending rumour for 2012: Barcelona want Gareth Bale , but will only go as high as £25m. Happy new year, everyone! Happy new year! Looking forward to this one!
