Wirral plans broadband boost

A pre-tender notice in the Official Journal of the European Union on 28 September 2010 says the council wants to hear from experienced suppliers interested in providing local authorities on Wirral and Merseyside with next generation broadband access. The new services would be designed initially to benefit selected business regeneration areas, with the possibility of expansion to the rest of the Wirral area. Wirral MBC would like to start work on the project in March next year for completion at the end of September. The predicted value ranges from £5m up to £11m.
