Cabinet Office and Oracle reach agreement
Oracle has confirmed that it has reached an agreement with departmental minister Frances Maude to support the government's agenda. The company said it will continue to work on existing projects and support new initiatives to restructure its business processes. It also said that the government's single client approach will make it possible to deliver short and long term benefits. David Callaghan, senior vice president for Oracle UK, said: "Under this agreement Oracle will continue to work to deliver innovative products and services that can drive the efficiencies that the government is committed to achieve. We take very seriously our role as a long term strategic partner for UK government and look forward to establishing further initiatives in support of this." Oracle was one of 19 IT suppliers that were asked by Maude in July to find new efficiencies. At least half of them have now signed MoUs.
